We’ve documented on more than one occasion that More Than Ready loves more Buckpasser. This is scarcely surprising as his broodmare sire, Woodman, is out of a Buckpasser mare who is inbred to La Troienne through the three-parts-sisters Busanda (dam of Buckpasser) and Striking, and that his own fourth dam is inbred 3 x 2 to La Troienne. click here to read more….

It might have taken a while for Sadler’s Wells to hit his stride as a sire of sires, but he’s been making up for lost time at a tremendous rate, and his line dominated group and grade one racing this weekend. click here to read more….

Former Champion two-year-old Dehere marked his return to the North American stallion ranks, admittedly at an age where he may have seen better days, in siring the Debutante Stakes (gr. III) winner Decelerator at Churchill Downs.

The weekend revealed a very promising three-year-old in the shape of Grazen (TrueNicks A+) who took his record to three wins in four starts in the Affirmed Stakes (gr. III). He is by Alydar’s son, Benchmark out of a mare by Rubiano, so combines genetic relatives Mr. Prospector and Alydar. click here to read more….

It was a relatively quite weekend for world-wide racing, but there was one classic in North America, the Canada premier event, the Queen’s Plate. The race went to favorite, Eye of the Leopard, who narrowly held of from Mr. Foricos Two U, with Canadian Oaks winner Milwaukee Appeal third.
Eye of the Leopard certainly has the pedigree for the job as he is by A.P. Indy out of Champion Canadian Three-Year-Old Filly Eye of Sphynx, a daughter of Smart Strike (TrueNicks Rated A+). Interestingly enough, Eye of the Sphynx is bred on the same Smart Strike/Vice Regent cross as the dam of Mine That Bird, while Curlin is by Smart Strike out of a mare by Vice Regent’s son, Deputy Minister. click here to read more….
