CONGRATS TO JACK AND MARK

Byron Rogers

While it is a long way from the sale ring to the winning post, Jack and Mark Maronde have to be happy with the start that their star mare La Sizeranne has had in her life with her first foal selling for NZ$700,000 to the bid of leading trainer Roger James at the Karaka Sales in New Zealand.

ROSTOVA AND THE DANZIG DOUBLE CROSS

Alan Porter

There is nothing like a horse to make a fool of a man! About the time that we were sending a client an e-mail cautioning about the Danzig/Danzig cross, particularly with Testa Rossa, Rostova (by Testa Rossa out of a mare by Danehill’s son, Anabaa) was busy stamping herself as the likely favourite for the Blue Diamond Stakes (gr. ROUGH EXPLANATION FOR MT. LIVERMORE NICK

Alan Porter

A few days ago I was discussing with a client the prospect of sending a mare by a son of Mt. Livermore to Songandaprayer. So the victory of Silver City (by Unbridled’s Song out of a mare by Mt. Livermore) in the Dixieland Stakes on January 16 was very timely, as was Byron’s note in this blog on Unbridled’s Song’s affinity for Blushing Groom in general, and Mt. Livermore in particular. click here to read more….

One of the best juveniles of his crop, Whywhywhy (Mr. Greeley – Thorough Fair by Quiet American), made a promising start to his career. He ended 2007 as a top six freshman sire, and was represented by inaugural Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner, Nownownow.
